Permalink structure
If your Permalink is /%postname%/, mage is using it also, you can run into many problems as some reported.
You may have conflicts between pages names and posts names.The correct permalink is /%post_id%/%postname%/ or variations of it.
Keep postname at the end, you can use date combination in front also.In order to fix it correctly, you will need install WP Redirection plugin.
Once you have Redirection activated, then you can change Permalinks to correct structure.In this order:
Turn Cache off – in xml-sitemap settings, I think
Redirection plugin installed and activated
Change Permalinks structure
Refresh XML-sitemap
Turn Cache on
